4 Party Ideas For Teens

Organising a party can be difficult and stressful, especially if you’re not sure what style of party to organise for your child. Fortunately, All About Party Bags has lots of fun suggestions for party ideas, party themes, and party supplies including filled party bags for birthdays.

Why Is Understanding Your Teenage Child So Difficult?

Parenting blogs and online parent forums and full of articles with concerned parents asking the questions such as “Is this normal teenage behaviour?”. It’s very important to remember that whilst some teenagers have grown as tall as many adults, some even growing taller than their parents; their brains are still developing. Specifically the part of the brain that links emotions and communication; this can make communication with your teenage child difficult at times.

Teenage children have a diverse range of hobbies, tend to spend more time with their friends than family, and their sense of identity is largely based on who they hang out with, so as a parent it can sometimes be difficult to plan the ideal birthday party for your child. So, if you’re stuck and need some suggestions, here’s a quick list of four to give you some food for thought.

Party Ideas For Teenagers

  1. A Sports Day
If your child spends a lot of time with their friends playing or talking about sports; consider organising a sports party for their birthday. By booking an activity hall for the day, your child can enjoy a game of football, netball, dodge ball, or a game of their choice. Also, thanks to the activity hall being indoors, you won’t have to worry about wet weather ruining the party.

  2. Visit The Cinema
If your child is more or a film lover than a party person, visiting the cinema with some of their friends if a great idea. There are lots of great films to choose from this spring, with highly anticipated title Captain Marvel, a film which was teased in the post-credit scene of Avengers: Infinity War, and includes the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful superhero Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel herself.

Some other highly anticipated movies being released later this year include Avengers End Game, the sequel to Infinity War, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Many cinemas also offer special perks for people celebrating their birthdays with a trip to the cinema. For example, at Odeon cinemas you can book a private party which includes tickets to a private screening of a current of classic film

  3. A Trip To The Local Zoo Or Aquarium
If your child loves animals, a trip to a local zoo or aquarium could be a fantastic idea for a birthday party. This can also be quite simple to organise compared to other party ideas because many zoos and aquariums list the animals that can be viewed on their websites. In many cases, a quick Google search is all you’ll need to find zoos and aquariums that have your child’s favourite animal available for viewing.

For example, if your child loves sharks it might be a good idea to organise a trip to Blue Planet in Chester; it has the largest collection of sharks in the UK including species such as tiger sand sharks, a zebra shark and reef sharks. However, if your child prefers land animals, perhaps a trip to the UK’s most visited zoo Chester Zoo will be a fun trip, with wonderful creatures to see such as bears, tigers, and lions.

  4.  Paintballing
Does your child love playing shoot ‘em up, battle royale, or fps style games? Are they big fans of games such as Call of Duty or Fortnite? If so, a paintballing birthday party might be the ideal gift for them.

Depending on the venue they could play missions such as capture the flag, protect the VIP, and much more. It’s a great way for teenagers to let off some steam. However, if you’re considering such a party, make sure that you check if the local paintballing venue has an age restriction as it is common for venues to have age limits. That being said, if your child and their friends are in the younger teenage years, there are some venues that have specific events catered towards younger players. UK Paintball writes in their FAQ section, “Most venues have a minimum age requirement of 15 years old but we also have venues that start from 11 years plus.”
